Summary:This investigation presents the stratigraphy of the Morro-Bacuranao, which is a potential area for hydrocarbon prospection. Well correlation charts and the overall geologic column of the area were designed based on recent drillings that allowed making the stratigraphic correlation of six oil wells located in the municipalities of East Havana and Cojímar of Havana province. Based on revised stratigraphic and bio-stratigraphic data it was possible to conclude that in this sector the reservoir is of a Veloz Group type as it is a carbonated sequence where the calcareous mudstones of the Jurassic Superior, Superior Tithonian- Lower Cretaceous prevail. These results are very useful for oil prospection due to the reduction of risks associated with the explorations in the Northern Strip of Heavy Crude Oils, the main hydrocarbon prospection area.
