Summary:Big Idea 2 is specifically focused on the origin and age of our planet. It is conceptually outlined through a set of fundamental ideas, which, by means of a multidisciplinary approach, integrate different subjects into the framework of the Earth and planetary sciences. Here the stress is on the relevance of the study of meteorites and their impacts. It can be seen how the new perspectives of astrogeological research foster a better knowledge and understanding of the Earth in the context of our solar system.
